Refunds Policy

Overview

Fund-a-Paw connects donors with partner animal shelters. Donations are processed securely by our payment processor (e.g., Stripe) and passed through to the designated shelter or campaign.

When we can refund a donation

We review refund requests in good faith. In general, we will approve a refund when:

  • You made a duplicate donation or donated the wrong amount.
  • The transaction was unauthorized or fraudulent.
  • There was a processing error and the donation was not intended.
  • A campaign or need was cancelled or materially changed before funds were used.

For transparency, refunds are typically available within 15 days of the donation. If funds have already been disbursed to the shelter, we may need to coordinate the refund with them and timelines can vary.

How to request a refund

Email support@fundapaw.org with:

  • Your full name and the email used for the donation
  • Donation date and amount
  • The shelter/campaign/animal (if known)
  • The reason you are requesting a refund
  • The receipt/transaction ID (from your email receipt)

For security, we may ask for additional information to verify your identity.

Refund method & fees

  • Approved refunds are returned to the original payment method.
  • Card networks may take 5–10 business days to reflect the refund on your statement.
  • Our payment processor’s fees are not always refundable. Where the processor returns fees, we will refund the full amount; otherwise, the refund may exclude non-refundable processing fees.
  • If a tax receipt has been issued, we will issue an adjusted or voided receipt.

Recurring donations

  • You can cancel a monthly donation at any time via the link in your email receipt or by contacting us.
  • If you were charged after requesting cancellation, contact us within 7 days and we will review a refund for the most recent charge.

Chargebacks

If something looks wrong on your statement, please contact us first at support@fundapaw.org. We can usually resolve issues faster than a chargeback through your bank.
